POP SONGの掟（?）に倣い、短い曲にしてみたんですけど（それでも4分11秒…な、長いか）

まず、この曲をリリースしようってことに至るまでの話を少し。
きっかけになったのは、間違いなく2020年に書いた曲「One Love」ですね
自分が歌う為の曲を自分で書いてみた、という初めての曲。
2020年。つまりはコロナ禍の中で自分に向き合って曲を作るみたいな事をしたのがきっかけでしたね。
いつも感じでビートを組んで、鍵盤を弾いて、トラックとしての作品を数多く作った中で
「お、これに歌乗せてみようかな」と思って作ったのが「One Love」
歌と言えば、自分の大好き歌声、ソウルフルな声と曲を広げるアイデア力を持つ男、岩崎慧（ケイ）くんに
コーラスの相談を持ちかけて、エッセンスを散りばめてもらって完成させました。
その時の手法の発展形をやってみたのが、今回の曲「Coffee Story」
ただこの曲はちょっと変わった作り方をしてて、
オレがまずこのトラックにあったメロディを４種類くらい作って、それを一度バラバラにして
ケイくんが新たに２、３種類のメロディを作って、
その出来上がったメロディたちを、改めて再構築し直して、
「よし、このメロがサビ、これがBメロになって、これが頭とケツにくる…」みたいな作り方。
最終的に、並べてみたらすげー面白くて、予想もしてなかった構成になって
意外なメロがサビになったり、
「このAメロは交互に歌おうか」ってことになって、
そこでまたそれぞれのメロディになるという、こんなに複雑に絡み合ったコライト（共作）は初めて。
オケの作り込みも、当初HIPHOPトラック色が強かった所に、
ギターやベースを弾き足してくれて、キーボードでもいい音色を挿してくれた。
その事で、新たに出来た展開もあって、曲に広がりが出来た。
ここまできて、大事になってくるのがいよいよ歌詞。
言葉で埋め尽くすのに、1ヶ月くらいかかったかなあ…
言葉で何かを表現してこなかった自分としては、作詞は難航しまくる作業で、
得意ではないけど、やりだすと楽しくもなる。
よくファミレスとかで、ちょっと離れた席にいる男女が何話してんだろなあ、なんて考えてた事を
そのまま歌詞にしてみたのだが、実際に見た風景は１つもない。創作ですね。
途中出てくる一節だけ、映画「Coffee & cigarettes」の話の１つ、
大好きな女優「Renée French（ルネフレンチ）」が出てくる件をそのまま描写してます。
「ルネフレンチ」は、2ndソロアルバム「UNDER THE WILLOW ICHIGO」の中にもタイトルに付けましたしね。
そんなこんなで完成したのが「Coffee Story」
今の自分が歌いたい曲をこだわって作ってみたいという流れで
まとめて10曲程を書いて形にしていってるシリーズなので、
とりあえずこの作品たちは、順々に世に放っていこうと思ってます。（第2弾はまもなく12/5リリースやしね）
